Strength Training and Metabolism

Both strength training and endurance exercise will increase your energy expenditure at the time of activity, and for a few hours afterwards, when they are conducted at the same intensity (you all have experienced that increase in hunger after a good workout, whether it be strength or cardio work).

However, strength training is unique in that if you perform multiple sets of a challenging weight to failure, scientists have shown that the energy expended afterwards, known as EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) can be elevated for 24-36 hours. Some people call this the “Afterburn” effect of serious strength training.

Why Living Foods Offer Protection Against Socialized Medicine

Syndicated from eZineArticles
How to use living foods to protect yourself from the problems that will arise from socialized medicine (should it continue to grow in America). Once upon a time, I worked for a company that offered its employees 3 levels of health insurance to choose from: The first level, an HMO, offered total and complete 100% health care cost coverage, for even small things. It covered up to a million (or 2) bucks a year (or something like that) for major catastrophic illness. In other words, no co-pay for office visits – ever. But you had to do EVERYTHING within the HMO facility – there were no choices about how things were done or treatment options available. Read more…

UPDATE: My Road to 15,000 Visits – We Did It!

In my last post about my traffic-getting goal, My Road to 15,000 Visits – Revisited, I talked about not making the goal in December, how I was going to take a breath in January and pursue the goal again in February. I also spoke about raising the bar and stretching to reach your goals.

Well, I relaxed and guess what happened? 16,502 visits in January, a nifty 20 percent increase over December!

Cool. I couldn't have done it without you.

All told, I got just over 20,000 visits in January to Muscle-Build.com and this blog, combined. That's really good. In fact, it's awesome. I never thought I'd get a small city to visit my site in one month!

I haven't even added in the traffic from the User Forum, either. I'd like that traffic to go up substantially, as I poured a lot of effort into setting it up. And I set it up because you, the reader, asked for it. Now, get out there and use it.

Please ;(

What should I shoot for next? Let me know in the Comments.
